One report states that Aston Martin believed that this car was such a huge leap from the Jaguar XJ-S based DB7 that they named it DB9 instead of DB8. Not true! They didn’t want the sugestion it only had a V8 under the hood and not the mighty 6 litre V12 engine it actually got, originally from it’s sister car, the Vanquish. Built on a special new, incredibly light bonded aluminium chassis, it has no trouble using the available 450 bhp to reach 60mph in 4.7 seconds. This convertible (Volante) exudes class and stylishness and makes the right noises. Definately one supercar to hire to impress the neighbours!
